I think it's important that we teach students what society today expects from a productive citizen. What was expected of me as a student has changed and what was expected from my parents when they were students has changed.
Major changes have occurred in the area of human rights. There has been a shift in the treatment of women, blacks, and homosexuals for example. Outdated ideas in these areas are not tolerated. a child practicing under outdated ideas in these categories might be subject to sever consequences
That's exactly why I think that it is so important for the elders of the communities of the world to communicate with the new generations and pass on our wisdom and values.
